Trip to Melamchighyang

Waterfall in Nepal

I was in a very much-needed fresh nature break from work and a monotonous life. Hence, I had joined my friends for a short impromptu weekend trip to Melamchighyang, a well-known hiking destination.

The destination is not so far from the city on the map, a mere 75km away from Kathmandu. That being said, it is a fact that nothing worth comes that easy. We started our drive at seven in the morning and drove along with continuous wonderful views throughout the journey, which came in forms of Himalayas, mountains, rivers, villages, etc. Since the road leading to the destination was not an express highway and as we were traveling on monsoon season, the drive was more than an adventurous one. Thanks to the season though, we bypassed a few very beautiful waterfalls.

Me and my wife Swechha had been planning holidays since 6 month, but as always due to time constraint we were not able to leave Kathmandu for short holiday. Finally on 16th August, we decided to visit Pokhara for a short romantic break. Pokhara is a beautiful valley with dozens of lake located in and around. It’s famous around the world as adventure paradise of Nepal. This was my second trip to Pokhara in a month, however this was special as I was travelling with my lovely wife to spend quality time in the peaceful tranquillity.

Kathmandu to Pokhara

We left home early to catch our 20 minutes flight scheduled for 11:30 am to Pokhara from Tribhuvan International Airport. We were really excited since we were going on a holiday after long time.

12-July, this date will remain in my mind throughout my life. 2015, this exact date, while I was with my friends celebrating my birthday, Ghale dai called me out of nowhere to start a trekking company, and 2016, same date when we started BeyulTreks, co-founded by myself, Ghale dai and Roshan , everyone being long time friends from Kathmandu University. After starting the company, we are getting good opportunity to meet lots of friendly and awesome people from around the world. Sharing stories with these amazing travelers, knowing about the culture and showing them the best of the best time from my home country Nepal has then been an integral part of our life. As they say, happiness is doubled when shared, we hope we have been able to give our lovely guests happiness of lifetime.

Chisapani-Nagarkot Dhulikhel Hike

Chisapani view point

It all started with the end of a weeklong monsoon. The skies had finally cleared up and the colors surrounding me felt more vibrant than ever before. The longing for a hike was finally a possibility. I, along with two other friends, started the journey from Baneshwor and headed towards Sundarijal with a trip planned for three days. Even the cab ride felt exhilarating and refreshing. We could not wait to start the hike which was bound to be filled with luscious forests, wildlife, friendly people, local cuisine and enormous mountains in the horizon for the entirety of the trip. The wait was excruciating.
